I have a 1994 Ford F-150, 302/5.0L, 2WD, dual tanks, straight cab, w/239K miles. The bushing between the Pittman arm and the tie-rod has worm completely out. I could hear (and feel) it banging away this on the freeway. Can I replace this bushing? It looks like a king bolt and cotter pin are that have to come out to seperate the two. I was thinking about wrapping kevlar straps around both wheels to keep them from spreading apart when the bolt comes out. I made a minor attempt to loosen the nut and bolt the other day but it was VERY tight. I'm a big guy and I was not trying too hard, I really just wanted to see how much of a chore it would be to remove it. Could the tie-rod and pitman arm be pulling against the bolt? Any comments and/or heads-up would be greatly appreciated. Any mentions about other bushings (front or rear) that I should go ahead and replace as long as I'm under there getting dirty, would also be welcome.
