On a 96 PSE there is ducting to the front of the car to duct cool air into the air box. Yet the opening is more then 50% blocked?? Can anyone give me a good reason why the stupic little plastic black peice that runs left to right in front of the raiator between the head lights? If you can let me know cause I took it off (it looked more restricing then any part of the factory air box. Thanks Jer '96 PSE

Our cars are very sensitive to intake temperatures (the temp of the air traveling into the engine) by simply removing the tubing and not rerouting it your intake is now drawing from the extremely hot air under the hood. Because of the high temp the air is "thinner" and does not combust aswell, thus you may lose performance. The solution is either fabricating a ram air setup, or buying (or making as I did) an air intake that draws from the open area under the car (down by the front bumper). Either way you're now drawing COLD air from a large free flowing air intake setup. Will Hauser
