Our cars are very sensitive to intake temperatures (the temp of the air
traveling into the engine) by simply removing the tubing and not rerouting it
your intake is now drawing from the extremely hot air under the hood.
Because of the high temp the air is "thinner" and does not combust aswell,
thus you may lose performance. The solution is either fabricating a ram air
setup, or buying (or making as I did) an air intake that draws from the open
area under the car (down by the front bumper). Either way you're now drawing
COLD air from a large free flowing air intake setup.
