I have a 93 4x4 ranger sport. It started about a couple months ago sounding like I had a blower instaled on it. Is this a normal sound or is it just that I'm noticing it for the first time? James

Check all of the drivebelt pulley bearings, see if you can hear any whining vacuum leaks with the hood raised, and hope that you didn't spin a rod or main bearing... sound from bottom of the motor. If a standard transmission, shift to neutral and let the clutch out while idling, does it make the noise, or go away when you shove the clutch in? If so, probably a worn pilot bushing/bearing. Ryan

cooling fan.... does it run all the time now? Should only run when you first start up and after it gets hot. It won't hurt anything unless it is hitting something, but things usually stick right before they break. Possibly need a new fan clutch. Chris Robertson Christopher.T.Robertson@...
