Hello out there- I bought a new '03 in 4/04 SVTZX5 Focus. So far, tHe
car has about 800 miles on it. I am very pleased with the performance
of the car, but I have noticed that third gear has a vibration coming
through the shift lever when I accelerate from 2,000 rpm. The
vibration smoothes out past 4,000 rpm. There is no vibration in any
of the other gears. Anybody have any clues? Is it possible the shift
lever is in contact with a vibrating surface in third gear only? Is
there a badly cut gear or bent shaft? Otherwise, the car is
delightfully balanced between acceleration, cornering, and braking
while maintaining a modicum of practical utility.
Thank you for any comments. Mark.
