One more question about the axle swap, the rolling chassis I got has disk brakes already on it a "real plus" can I install the axle and use the existing master cylinder and brake lines " I have drums right now" or do I have to install a power unit I don't know the name of the part but I think its call a booster "the big circle thing on the fire wall" lol

Thanks again
Cjpsich

You don't have to have power assist , works nicer but not necessary . As to gear ratio , there should be a tag bolted to the front diff cover with a bunch of numbers , 2 of which will be 4:10 , same with the rear . If not pull the cover , count ring teeth & pinion teeth then divide the two . Look at a manual & see what an open diff looks like & what a posi looks like then compare . Good luck

Lift the axle off the ground and lock the hubs, roll one tire. If the other tire rolls the same way it has some sort of traction device. If it rolls the opposite way it's open. Or pull the cover off the diff and look. If you can see the spider gears in the case it's open, if it looks like a 'soup can' where the spiders should be, it's a traction device.
