This message is cross posted so you may recieve it twice, sorry about that :) Anyway, my temperature gauge on my 96 PSE with 73,000 miles is acting strange. While I'm driving it will randomly raise up, just before getting to the "H"....and then it will stay there for about 15 seconds or so and then drop back down to normal. It's been doing this for about 2 weeks or so....I haven't noticed it affect my car, except today while sitting at a light, I put it in neutral and the car died....the idle went really low...anyway, anyone have any ideas before I take it in? Thanks Ryan 96 pse

I'll have to think about it. But something to note about that "temperature gauge". I believe it is simply a switch, if the engine reaches a "threshold temperature" the guage goes to "hot", if not, it reads normal. I may be wrong on that though. Bryan >

Try installing a new temperature sending unit. Its right on the water neck by the head. Mine was 38$ @ my local NAPA. It is rather high like any other part for a PSE

>i'd like to get a poll on what the average range is on >the temp gauge of 94-95 gt's Here in Florida my 95GT runs in pretty hot and humid temps most of the time. On cool days it will run at the 1/3 area especially on the highway but on hot days and in stop and go traffic it will run about 1/2 and under heavy throttle on warm days it'll run about 2/3. So your readings arent uncommon...the 5.0 motors run hot. Cooler thermostats, Redline Water Wetter, a manual fan switch, bigger radiator, are some of the things you can do to keep yours running cooler. Mario 95 Mustang GT Pretty much stock...no really.

Mine stays at half when I'm running it fairly hard and a little less normally driving. The only time I remember it over half is at the track. > i'd like to get a poll on what the average range is on > the temp gauge of 94-95 gt's > > mine runs mostly at half, but at times may creep up > close to 2/3rds > > has anyone done an actual temp. vs gauge test?? > meaning how many degrees is half-way up the gauge?? --

Here in NY it gets pretty hot but I have never had any problem, even with
pullies.
I always run in the low normal range even with the AC on.
