I just purchased a new, engine with 23,000miles and im going to be ordering the j-spec intake came for it...Right now though im waiting for my stage 4 clutch from clutch masters( this will handle handle crazy boost when i get to that point hehe) and today im ordering my lightened flywheel from fidenza(sp?) I was thinking of going with the Jspec intake manifold but Im a little leary of ordering it only to find out I have to change something...Now corksport claims that the intake manifold will just bolt right on there...but Im I dont know if they are sure of themsleves being that they said they dont know of anyone doing it yet... but as far as the Jspec intake cam I know someone has done that because Ive seen dyno plots on Bryan Pendleton page..DOes anyone know who this guy is with the Jspec Intake Cam????I would like to know the level of complication installing this.. Well I guess thats about it... -Jude Olwell 93PSE

A lot of people have put the intake came from the J-spec engine, its not a hard process, all you do is replace the cams, making sure that the timing is right and that everything is the way it is soposed to be, now the idle speed is effected some with the new cam but can be adjusted by messing with a screw on the throttle body, check the probetalk forum www.probetalk.com for the posts on that. The intake manifold from the J-spec engine might bolt on, but our computers don't have anything to control the VRIS system in the intake. Bryan has talked about something from summit that can be order to control it but i'm not sure about that. Thats basicly the only problem we don't have anything to control the VRIS system. Just my 2 sence. Jose G NEPO member

I;m the guy on Bryians web page with the intake cam, and I have no idea how hard it is to put in, I had a mechanic do it for me. However Bryan himself has done the install, you might want to talk to him.

yeah i would really like to know too. I mean, does it just drop in? Or do you have to do all kinds of adjustments such as tranny etc. I'm curious about the KS-ZE engine myself. Justin 96 base

Well, I haven't done it myself so I'm just going by what I've heard and the FS-ZE is supposedly a b*tch to have and maintain. I guess it bolts right on but needs the computer remapped(which is to be expected) and needs either at least 98 octane gas or an extensive amount of tuning to make it run on 93 and my guess is that it would be less potent so to speak if you tuned it to run on 93. You also need a controller for the VRIS system but I am not sure of how it is accomplished. Even with all this I am still considering it because I fear I may have fubarred my engine(the car won't run and I found oil in the radiator). Either way I'm gonna be screwed for a while so I'll have time to explore it more thoroughly. Hopefully I'll make a good decision. Josh >
