Hello again everyone! I'm continuing to get "surprises" with my '95 Contour (V6)...Now my car is cutting off...it's an automatic but I'm driving it like a straight. It cranks fine; it revs real high then quickly falls and I have to keep my foot on the gas...I had the fuel filter replaced and that didn't help. I've used several bottles of gas treatments and fuel injector cleaners also. There's a lot of knocking and hesitation. I purchased a throttle position sensor (27.99) because I was told that might be the problem. I have the Contour book but it's confusing trying to figure out where the sensor is located. I'm female, so I don't plan on jacking the car up and getting on the ground...I have a male friend who offered to replace it if he can get to it easily. Any thoughts? Also, have any of you had this same problem (cut offs)...how did you fix it? I know it could be a zillion things but I'll start with the sensor. I feel that a diagnostic will be a waste of time and money. (will explain that one later) And I'm still having an overheating problem; smoke billows from under the hood on a bad day! THANKS!

Try drowning the MAF sensor filament with Windex and then let it airdry. Works well as preventive maintenance too. 'bird
