I got to get my timing belt changed and plan to have a local shop do it because it's beyond my DIY skills. What's a fair price to get it done? I got 2 quotes from shops here in California, US: one quote for $175 for part and labor, the other is $150 for labor $30 for part (= $180). BTW quote for replacing the water pump is an additional $38 for the part. Are these prices reasonable? -Lino Sacman '93 PSE

The quotes I got: from one place was estimated as a range between $260 and $300, and another place wanted $400. So yes, I would say that's pretty reasonable...

Thanks for the info. I've been getting other replies saying that the quotes I got were pretty good so it looks like it's a green light for me on either of these two shops to do the timing belt. Thanks again. -Lino Sacman
