Yes, I'm for mileage! Treadlife, low rolling resistance, and wet-
road-handling are my priorities. Noise and 120 mph ratings are
irrelevant. I use snow tires in the winter (Bridgestone Blizzaks),
so I can buy a harder, longer lasting tread compound for the summer
driving.
I must admit, I am impressed with the treadlife on my OEM General G4S
tires. They have 39,000 miles on them, and have lots of tread left.
Those are all-season tires, I expect I will buy something for
summer/non-snow when they need replaced, and may find something even
longer lasting. It is good for the environment to buy long lasting
tires so that you don't have to consume resources (oil) to make new
tires and you don't add to the disposal problem of the old tire
carcasses. Happy Earth Day, everybody (April 22).
