Hey Guys and Girls,
I need your help. I have been looking at new rims and wheels for
sometime. I just got a flat that is un-repairable, so I think I will
just get a new set soon. I have the XLS model and the General
225/70/15's. I want to get the Michelin Cross Terrain's. I was
thinking about going with what the XLT's come with. They have the
235/70/16's. That will throw my ABS brakes, and speedometer out of
sync. I think FORD can re-program my computer for about $150.00 CAN.
Do I trust that my Escape will have no other side affects? The guy at
the Tire place recommended I not go with a bigger tire/rim combo.
Should I go with the bigger rims/tires? Will I see less performance
or better? I heard I may lose horse power? Will my Escape not drive
the same with bigger tires? Should I just go with the 15" Michelin
Cross Terrain's, and some custom rims? Only the 15" rims of course?.
My other option is to go with high performance tires with 16" rims.
But not increasing my overall tire diameter?but I do not have the 4x4,
so I want the best tire for winter and summer?.not a performance tire.
I do live in Canada eh?
