well, i think 300Hp out of a 4 cilinder 2.0 engine isn't out of the
question, but you have to modify the engine (shorten the piston run
amongst other things) in addition to installing some kind of forced
induction system AND virtually strip the car to the bone. Of course
you also gotta think of the abuse the engine is gonna take, it might
last you a year and a half, maybe less. Anything closer to 600Hp i
would guess you would have to get a bigger engine and some form of
alcohol fuel system, of course then the car would only be good for 1/4
mile races. And either way you also have to modify the transmission,
the clutch, the braking system, emissions, suspension, probably would
need to add a roll cage and a whole bunch of other stuff i can't even
think of, if you ever do embark on this quest, than i hope you don't
have kids because there's not gonna be much left for the collage fund.....
