the aerostar hitches i've seen are pretty cut and dried- it's just that you
have to take the spare tire down because it's in the way of the crossbar of
some of them. Drilling the unit body "frame" rails, then getting the nuts
onto the bolts inside the rail is a bit tricky. A home welder could make
up a hitch for an aerostar out of flat plate and bar stock, a windstar is
more difficult because the crossbar needs to curve and drop down to get
below the bumper.
