it's worth taking the pan off the bottom of the transmission, checking for
particles or broken band parts, and seeing if the trans filter is clogged.

Is your an All wheel drive? depending on the discount you get, they are 120
to 180 us each. Not hard to replace if you've done front end work.
Very difficult and dangerous to do if you have never taken apart balljoints
and so on. Take it to a shop.
note- if it's only making the clack sound a bit when making sharp low speed
turns and giving it gas, they'll last for a while if you don't abuse it. Or
could break next week if you peel rubber with wheels cranked to side.
