Hi all, how do i check the transmission mounts on my car how do i know if there bad? im gonna do some work on my car this weekend and im just tryin to see what to look for.

in my opinion, the best way to check your trans mounts is to jack up the car, put a set of jack stands under it, then using a 2x4 about 12" jack up the rear section of the tranny. when i say jack up the tranny I mean just put tension on the bushing and look for cracks. if cracks are found, jack up a LITTLE more to see if the mount is split. if you see light in the crack, its broke. to replace remove the 2 bolts(I believe) under the cross member and the 2 in the tranny housing and it should slide out. to reinstall raise the trans just enough to slide the mount in. you mave have to remove the cross member but I doubt it. hope that helps, Jack
