Hello all, I just signed up for this group today and havent had time to get through all the posts. I have a 96 GL auto 4 cylinder and whenever I drive on the highway for an extended amount of time (specifically if it is hilly) the overdrive light blinks on and off on the instrument cluster. The car still drives fine but once I get off of the highway and come to stop and start to accelerate again it shifts very hard and jerky. Once I turn the car off the light stops blinking. The tranny works itself out after a day or so and the car drives normal again. Im not leaking any fluid and I recently changed the tranny fluid. Has anyone ever had anything like this happen?? Im a little concerned but its one of those things where since it works itself out I wont take it in. Please help!! Thanks, Matt

I worked on my Overdrive Switch on the automatic shifter. Seems that this is only a momentary switch that puts a ground to the circuit. You could have a wire that is chaffed and is touching the metal of the shifter inside. This would put the Xmission into Overdrive without pushing the button. It could be very intermittant. Rick
