I haev a 1998 Ford Contour with 87,000 miles on it. The other day I had stopped to turn into a parking lot and when I tried to accelerate the car simply would not go. It was as if my car was in neutral. I tried shifting and nothing would happen. The car was still running fine but I could not move. I had the car towed and they said that part of my transmission had fallen out, a servo? They said that it had rusted and fallen out. The mechanic said that the transmission doesn't look good. Has anyone else had persistant problems with their transmission on a Contour? or am I getting the run around. I just don't understand how a car with only 87,000 miles can have bad transmission problems. My brother has an explorer with 167,000 miles on it and has never had transmission problems. Can someone offer some help? Thanks in advance. Rico
