My 1997 Contour (2.0 L engine, automatic transmission) will not shift up a gear unless I take my foot off the gas. My wife was driving the car when this first happened. She said the green overdrive light started flashing. The light no longer flashes, but the car still won't upshift unless I lift off the gas. I saw someone had a similar problem on a different message board, but there was no follow-up posting about how he solved the problem. Has anyone else had this happen? If so, how much will it cost to fix? Is it time to just get rid of the car? Thanks for any insights, Andrew
