I just lost the trany in my 86 t-bird the only problem that i have is that i have a 5.0 ho motor out of a mustang and i have the stock overdrive trany does any one have a sugestion on what tranny i should put back in it or should i have the stock one rebuilt with better parts.Im on kind of a low budget so any and all sugestions will be welcome. thanks T.C.

depending on the year of the 5.0, after 1990 rebuild the stock, before 1990 rebuild a C4 and install the stall converter of your choice and a quality shift kit. the choice you have to make is Do you want the improved gas mileage the overdrive has to offer or the hell with the gas prices and give me a tranny I can abuse and still kick a camaro's ass with. good luck, Jack
