Are the underdrive pulleys really worth the price, how much horsepower could they really free up, a dependable set of figures would shut me up? On my old Firebird sure a set of underdrive pulleys did the trick on the street, but once I got her running efficiently afterwards, the difference was harder to notice. So, on the incredibly efficient 4cyl probe is it really neccesary to apply the pulleys. One more thing, are you really going to turn your probe into a strip car soon, if not I would consider the consequences in comfort you are going to take, and if you are like me you probably would not want your lady friend whining about your ride. Just thought I would add some points to consider.

Unlike breathing "mods" pulleys will free power and torque through out the entire rpm band, which alone is very appealing. According to UR, they lowest gain they have seen from their street pulleys is 8 b.h.p. (engine hp, this translate to less on the dyno). Again, note that this gain will be seen across the whole rpm band, not just at peak horsepower. I would highly recommend this mod, particlulary for $140, ok you have to buy belts too, but whos counting. The worst case senario would probably be about 5 horses across the entire band.
