Hey everyone... ive pretty much decided on getting a universal borla for my 94 PSE ATX... now the only thing that im thinking of is whether i should really go for a full custom cat back exhaust or just popping the muffler in place.... does anyone know what the stock piping diameter is for the 2.0L engine.. My car is an automatic so will going to a cutback make a huge difference for the money.. or would just placing the muffler on be just fine....im also planning to make a custom air intake for the cone filter im getting.. would it be wise to enclose the cone or be open aired... and good ideas on how to make this enclosure... i currently have a ram air setup with my stock intake.. any info would be greatly appreciated.... plz respond soon as im going to get the parts in the next couple hours.. Eugene 94 PSE ATX

Well you are sort of in the same place I am. I have a 95SE ATX and just yesterday I made my custom intake. I got a filter adapter and a Cone filter. It may be better to leave it open in the air if you leave on the stock air duct (the "S" looking piece in the front that sucks in air from the outside). Eventhough it is pointed downward, it still directs air into the vicinity of the cone filter. Just so you know, if you do what I did, the filter will sort of be facing the battery, but thats fine. I noticed a huge difference in the pull over 3,000rpm, but there was a little hesitation before that. Now I have to get my muffler also, so I will hang in there for a little bit and see what other people reccomend. GOOD LUCK!!! Mark Light 1995 ford probe SE

Hey Eugene, well a performance shop called "Source-X" just opened up in my area (North San Diego County, CA) and I went there. They had the filter in stock and I ordered the adapter whick only took 24 hours to get in. It is a small store, because they order everything. Another member on the list (se95probe@...) had a cheaper idea. Go to a macine shop and get one custom made. It is just a 4" square piece of metal with a 3" hole in the middle and they just weld on a 3" pice of exhaust tubing on it. I personally didn't want to go through trouble with getting that done, so I just got an already made one. He also said that you can call up Weapon-R or Iceman and just order the adapter. Sorry its so long to explain. If you have any other questions about the intake, e-mail me at (mlight@...). Mark Light 1995 Ford Probe SE

I also have a automatic probe also I have the akimoto intake on it can be made to work I honestly suggest though to go with the ice man kit instead. and also if you are wanting to go with bigger exhaust tubing do not go over 2&1/2 inches in diamter or you will loose some HP.
