All these bug shields look the same. What are the differences? Bug shields must protect better than bras, too ...right?
It looks like the hood can open with these installed...is that correct? thanks.

The hood opens exactly the same. The bug/stone shields are very similiar. They all are installed without having to drill and basically snap into place. Some custom fit a little better and some come with support bumpers. I have the Ford one installed and it has the bumpers. Dennis and Lance have the Lund shield installed without the bumpers.

Both are good. If the bumpers bother you get the Lund.

I'm very happy with my Ford bug/stone shield. Lots of pictures of it in the photo section.

Gary

Gary, have you been able to tell if the bug shield helps keeping bugs off the windshield? On some of the vehicles I have had in the past bug shields did not do a good job. We have an invasion of love bugs here in Florida twice a year that really mess up the windshields and it would be nice to have some help.

David

Unfortunately I can't. I got my Escape late September and it is still winter here. (although no snow), so there has been a limited number of bugs to test it against.

I do not have any stone chips on my hood. I can't prove that the shield has helped in preventing it, but I believe that it has.

I will let you know about the bugs in about two months. (Hopefully)

Gary
