Unfortunately, since many cars have been wrecked, and sent to salvage yards, and then, eventually on to the crusher, as well as some states having not kept the records for more than 10 to 15 years, it is not possible to know where all of the Mustangs are, today. Also, since the Mustang was built on the same line as the Cougar, and a few other cars, it is impossible, without looking at the VIN number, to determine which car is which. For instance, the Mustang, until a certain year, started 0F05H123456.
The first 0 denotes the model year 1970. The F indicates that the car was built in Detroit. There were two other places that the car could have been built, Metuchen, New Jersey, and San Jose California. The 05 indicates the body style of the car, more specifically, a Mach I. The H is the engine code, in this case, a 2V 351W. The last six numbers are the car number. Each specific car has a different series of the last 6 numbers. As stated above, the Mustang shared the line with cars such as the Mercury Cougar, the Ford Fairlane, and a few others, so the six digits are not, per se, in sequence from one Mustang to the next. There could have been 30 Mustangs built, the 30 Fairlanes, and then 30 Maveriks, or Capris, etc.
There are registries for certain special cars, i.e. anything that Carrol Shelby did, Boss 302, Boss 429, High Country Specials, etc.
You might look into this, and see if one is available for your '64.5, and if there is information available concerning the people that own them, but I can almost guarantee that you will not get all the information on every single current Mustang owner.
Good luck on your quest for information, and it is nice to see that, for all these years, someone has been true to the hobby, and enjoyed this interesting and fun ponycar for well over 35 years.
