hey guys, i know this has probably been asked before, but why is the
weapon r intake only listed for '96-up probes? I have a 93 and was
looking at buying the iceman one but it is taking forever to come out.
If i did buy a weapon r one would'nt it work just the same as in a 96
probe? If not what are the differences between the 2 model years?
thanks,
jay

*shrug*
If you call and talk with them they will basically sell it to you, and if it
doesn't fit properly they told me they would let you return it.
Check it out.

The Weapon*R intake does work for the 94 Probes. I purchased one right after
I bought my probe 2 years ago but I don't reccomend them. For the price they
want for one and the little piece of pipe they give you, it really isn't
worth it. I used the MAF sensor-filter adapter and designed my own intake
using some 3" PVC pipe from a hardware store(Lowes) and also some plumping
adaptors. This allowed me to move the filter wherever I felt I needed
it(closer to the ground is the best in good weather) and I found that I
gained another 4 h.p. by doing this, dyno proven.( was 10 with the weapon r
and 14 with my own design)

hey dude, i've considered the same thing. i was looking at weapon-r and
talked to iceman. from asking probe people, they said it would fit. its the
same engine compartment from what i've heard. but iceman said that they would
bring theirs out in about two weeks. i'm gonna wait for iceman, but if u cant
wait, go for the weapon-r.

How did you make you own air inductions intake, and do you have an
instructions and pictures for those of us who want to build one instead of
paying $$$ for like you said a piece of pipe.

Do you have the dyno results on floppy? If not, I encourage you did get me
those dyno results on floppy, and I can post them for everyone to observe.
Just visit the shop that dynoed your car, if it was a Dynojet, they should
be able to get you the results, or at least a copy, and then you mail or
email them to me. I would love to get my hands on them though.
Thanks,

Personally, If I were to buy an intake system I would wait for the Iceman.
Even though that might be next year, dispite what they say, heck they told
be over a year ago they would have it released in a few weeks, then they
dropped everything and decided to design ANOTHER turbo kit for the civic, as
if there wasn't enough already. I just dont see how any intake could hang
with the Iceman though. The only thing that might convince me other wise
would be side by side dyno results, even then, it might question it, because
cold air intakes thrive on a moving vehicle, and well . . . your not moving
on a dyno.
Wait it out, and see what happens with the Iceman. Call them and pressure
them to get it going too.

Just for the record, Iceman has been saying their intake would be coming out
soon for a long time. I bought the Weapon*R almost 2 years ago, and at that
time Iceman was telling me the same thing. And ask to see their dyno results
because from what I hear, they aren't as great as they were for some of the
other cars they were designed for.

I can't give pics on building the intake, but if you give me a week i'm sure
I can type up some pretty detailed instructions. About the only part that is
going to cost some money will be the filter itself. You can usually find an
Aerospeed brand cone filter for around $40. It works just as well as some of
the high priced brand names.

Well unfortunately, while the dyno results are no longer around, I have
plenty of witnesses. I didn't really believe the dyno was right either. I
mean, not many intakes do give you the 10, but I have to go by the results
since there really isn't any other way to know.

Need to know the price and how long it would take to get it, and how good it
is. A friend of mine has on on his Neon ACR, and it doesn't seem very cold,
shit we were at the track in maryland and the sucker was hotter then hell.

Okay I've been kinda out of the loop with these Iceman intakes systems. I've
only been to this site http://www.importpartsga.com/engine/iceman/iceman.htm
but didn't the actually show the Iceman setup for the Probes It only showed
the setup for the Civics... :( Can anyone tell me the URL of a site that
has one specifically showing it installed on the 2.0L 2nd Gen Probes? I'd
like to see where the air filter and the ram air scoop is actually located
in this setup.
I've seen the Weapon R setup and although the quality and construction
looks okay I personally didn't like the way it just sucks up all the hot air
in the engine compartment. Similar to the Weapon R is the AutoPhysics which
better only in the sense that it has the a flex tube and a ram air scoop
that can be mounted low on the car chassis providing cold air. Only problem
is that this ram air provides just about 40% of the air taken in, the rest
is again taken in from the hot engine compartment as the Weapon R does.
Most effective setup I've seen is still the HotShot tube and filter setup
that the 2nd gen 2.5L Probe owner's use. It draws air thru the filter
located at the bottom of the car...but it isn't ram air setup, and from what
I keep hearing it is susceptible to water ingestion when driving thru
puddles in the rain. Is the Iceman ram air intake similar or an improvement
on this?
