Well, for better or worse, I have decided to purchase a new ZX3. I can't find anything in the price range that I like better. I am really excited about this car. When I first decided to buy one it definently had to be Infa Red. Well, then I saw the Forest Green one. But then this evening I say a Silver one. Oh, I liked the silver one.

Can anyone share with me why they bought the color the did? Did anyone buy a color that they wished they hadn't. I like them all. I appreciate any thoughts anyone has.

Mike

Well, i got a rainforest green ZX3, and this is why:

main reason: green is my favorite color
other reasons: it looks good, its not a cop magnet [like yellow, white, red, and sometimes black].

first and foremost -> pick a color that is your favorite, or you think looks best on the car.

after that, i cant really advise anyone on what color to get, but i can recommend rainforest green... i am slightly biased :c)

hey...you sound like a kansas-dweller! :)

I went to olathe ford, and I had to have AC and Manual. It was an easy choice for me, cuz they had 2 colors that matched what I wanted. Zinc (yellow, which doesn't do a lot for me), and Silver... The silver one actually made my heart skip a beat. I also have a Black '95 escort. They had one black zx3 (automatic, forget it), but black is so hard to keep looking clean. If I had all the colors in front of me, configured the way I wanted it, It would initially be a toss-up between RF Green and Silver. Silver would have eventually won anyways because it's a lot easier to keep looking good.

If yer from kansas... what part? I still don't see many zx3's on the road around here.

--Ax0n

cloud nine (white) when it is clean it looks clean and is easy to spot in a parking lot.
was orginally thinking of forest but decided
that white was better for sun factor.

Funny - I brought a Silver one from Olathe Ford in Aug. Silver is a good color for the ZX3. I really wanted Black, but like you said, it is SO hard to keep it clean here in KS.

Later...

Thin

Small world...I was at Olathe Ford on Sunday just looking at all of them, trying to decide the color. I live between Olathe and Spring Hill, out in the country a little ways. Sounds like we are neighbors.

I saw a silver one at Bob Allen the other day. I thought it was stunning. But then again, the white is awfully cool too. Olathe has a Forest Green. For some reason I am attracted to that one to. I think what I am going to do is wait for the 2001s to hit the ground. I want to see what the new moonroof is all about? I will probably just buy the one that striks me then right off the lot. No, I have only seen one ZX3 actually on the road around here. It was a dark blue one and was being driven by a little old lady! I think the styling is a litte too rad for our conservative part of the country. It will catch on though!
Thanks for your response.

yah, I'm actually just a stone's throw away (I know, I know, hick-talk) from 69 HWY in stilwell... sounds like you're just the other side of the highway a ways. I've been asked a lot of questions about my car... ppl ask me if it's one of those "Cruiser things"... lol... my dad's got a Black PT Cruiser and I DO NOT see any similarities at all... I also get asked if it's one of those "Electric car things"... probably referring to the ULEV Honda Insight Hybrid (Gas/Electric), and a co-worker drives one, and I still don't see many similarities, even after parking right next to him and trying...

These guys in KS have *NO* idea... I do see a lot of Sony foci and the other 4-door and wagons seem to be popular around here... the ZX3 just isn't to be seen much... maybe 5 or 6 I've seen... and I got to race an automatic one that looked just like mine... bwahahaha! <Evil laugh>

Olathe ford is REALLY good to their customers. My salesman (Brian Rector, a GREAT Guy) was juggling me with 3 other couples at the same time... trying to satisfy us all... I was surprised at how calm and at ease he seemed to be. Even though he was stressin' he was still the least painful car salesman I've ever talked to. I showed up a half-hour before closing, and he even stayed late and had my loan approved before I left. I could have taken the car with me within 3 hours of showing up to the dealership, but I decided to sleep on it and call my insurance company in the morning. Their service department is also great. My '95 escort had a huge electrical system problem, and they took almost 4 hours to find it, but ended up only charging me for parts. :)

Thanks for your reply. I talked to a sales guy and you are right. They were pretty good. I am going to go over there and see if I can drive both the auto and the manual again. I'll ask for your guy.

It's got to be yellow. unfortunately if you bought your car when they first came out in 2000, yellow wasn't available. I spoke with a professional body shop and they said painting a car a different color from original severely impacts the value of the car (not that the Focus is all that costly as it is).

I say this because I bought a ZX3 and have customized it for the rally sport look. I had to settle for red (not that I'm complaining too much) because it was the only one in Texas available with Manual, side air bags, and ABS at the time (my three requirements). I so wanted a yellow one with a black racing stripe up the middle it's not even funny.

Hi! I picked up my cloud 9 white ZX3 Monday night. Originally I had wanted a black one, but I liked the contrast of the brake lights with the white. And it's a really bright white...not at all dingy. I'll need more washes, but I'm in love with it...

-sky

I just bought an Autumn Orange 2000 ZX3, the color is great, and they dropped it for 2001, which sort of makes it more exlusive :)

JACKPOT GOLD!!! it's the best color and rare on a ZX3. My second favorite colr is the infr-red. Silver always looks faded even when it's new

I got the white because my former car was dark, and it was too hot and too hard to keep clean. I loved the Forest Green, but it was too dark and I promised myself that when I got my next car, I would get a lighter color. I did not get the silver because it is too popular. I just think the white with the half bra and windows tinted looks nice.
