I've got an 88 stock Sport Coupe which has the 5.0L EFI V8. The only thing that I've done that you might consider a performance mod is the exhaust. I got cleaned out the cats and got rid of the stock mufflers and went to 40 series flowmasters. I'm wanting to start playing under the hood. I'm thinking that it would be best to start with a chip but don't know if I should go with the chip for my car or if it'd be better to go with a chip for another 5.0<br><br>Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. I know very little about performance stuff right now. I'm kinda learning as I go. So, considering that I haven't been able to do much to the car yet I'm still fairly performance stupid.<br><br>thanks guys.

If you decide to get a chip, make sure you get one specifically for your year, make and model car. There are subtle differences in the programming for each car, even if they have the same engine. You may end up with an incompatibility that won't even let you start your car. Then again, there may be no problem at all, but do you really want to take that chance? Hope this helps,<br><br>Kenny
