Hello all, I am wondering what size tires everyone is running on their T-Bird. I am to a point that I will buying a new set in the next few months, and want to increase the size. So, what size tires are you running on, and what type of rim ? I have the 97 T-Bird with the sports package that included 16" rims. I am presently running Goodyear 245-50-16 GTII. I would like to move up to something like a 245-60-16 or 255-50-16, but I am unsure if they would hit the shock tower in the front. I would like to retain the orginal stock 16" rims. Bruce

BF Goodrich 245/60r15's on altered Stock 15" rims. http://www.shadoweb.net/tbird/intro.jpg > I have the 97 T-Bird with the sports package that included 16" rims. Your current setup is 1.7% too fast, when you see 60mph you are going 59mph. I am not sure what the width is on the sport rims, 255 may be pushing it. It can be done but it might not be reccommended and might not clear the front control arm.

I have a 97 30th anniv. mercury cougar with the sport package and the 16" rims. I am running cooper cobra's in a 245/50ZR16 in the rear and 225/55/ZR16 in the front. I would strongly suggest not running anything biggerin the front or rear. the rears fill the wheel wells and the fronts do also with out messing up the steering or struts. And man do they look good.
