Ok I'm have a really bad problem with tire wear. The insides of my front tires are wearing really hard. I'm running 205/40R17" I replaced the front struts when I put on the 17"s and had it alined, that's when I found out there was something wrong with the car. Since then I've had it put on a frame rack... they found one of the "A" arms was slightly bent, so I had it replaced and re-alined. The #'s from the alinement were all with in specs. and it drive strait without any pulling. I've had it to 3 shops now and they all told me there's nothing else that can be done for the alinement and that it is set correctly. So unless someone can give me a place to start looking for problems I may have to trade my beloved Probe in cus I don't think any size tire should wear to the cords in somewhere close to 3000 miles. also the type of tires you have will make a difference. i've got non z rated on my 17's and i'm havin no probs what so ever. probes are designed to have negative camber that means if you look closely you'll see they tilt inwards at the top. that also means if you have a really soft compound tire on your wheels it will wear very quickly. and very much with that low a profile. one other question for you. what size width on your wheels? mine are 7.5 wide, and 205's will fit but they kinda let the wheel stick out more than the tire. i've got 215/45/r17's. hopefully this helps.
