Hi folks, Does anyone know if the aluminum wheels from a pre-95 4wd Explorer will fit later models. Specifically, will a set of '92 wheels from a 4wd fit a '96 4wd? Assuming I find a set of wheels, does anyone have any recommendations on snow tire brand/models? Thanks. Craig Williams Flagstaff AZ

Yes...2WD or 4wd... Also Ranger wheels all years, and just about any 5-lug wheel from a rear w d Ford with a 5 on 4.5" bolt-circle. Bob

Go to http://www.tirerack.com and check out tires there... They have ratings posted by consumers. Remember that a tall narrow tire does better in the snow than a wide low-profile. Bob

Craig, I have a set of wheels and tires that fit my '91 Explorer. They are the factory look from '91 but don't have the same center cap. The tires are Dick Cepek Mud country. I ran them for two winters here in Western PA and they worked great. The aluminum wheels need to be polished but the tires are like brand new. I would be willing to sell together or separately. Let me know. I can also email pictures if you want. Bill
