I have a 1955 Thunderbird. On hot summer days after driving for 30 minutes or more and turning off ignition, it will not restart. Engine turns over well, but does not start. After allowing it to cool off for about 30 minutes – it starts right up.
Any suggestions? I have asked several locals and their only suggestion was to get a new carburetor, which I obviously do not want to do.
Related question: when I am cranking it trying to start it, should I pump the gas pedal, or not touch it, or does it make any difference?
