Why do people in the city need a SUV? (No judgement here). What do you think about when purchasing a car - 2 door vs. four door, etc.

I think about economy, sufficient space and comfort in that order. Other considerations would be the availability and price of parts, good local dealership and reputation of the chosen make. My choice is somewhat limited by my height I am 5ft and it is very hard to get good visibility and reach the pedals. This was a major factor when I bought my Ford Galaxy it was very comfortable for me and for my late husband who was 6ft, it also had sufficient room for a big family.

Practicality is my number one consideration when I'm looking at buying a car. I normally have something rugged and spacious which I use for load carrying, and a little run about for other times.

Great safety ratings and room for the kids are the things we look for first. Four doors isn't even enough, we're looking at mini-vans. smile.gif

Comfortable for a family of four and the safety ratings are the first things I look for when buying a car.

I agree with tater, ruby, and green, but I have to stay away from the mini-van thing, because I am just not ready to make that big of a statement yet. My kids call them a 'granny-mobile' and I can not do that. banana.gif

I chose my escort mainly because it was the right size for me....both in terms of physical size and size of my bank account it was taking from me, lol.

i chose mine because i always wanted one when i first learnt to drive and my mates had cosworth sierra's at the time so next best think was a xr4x4 and it was at the right price at the time.
saying that i have spent a fair bit since over the last 3 years and all my mates have sold their cosworth's and moved onto other car's
