Two problems have surfaced with my ZX3 that I have not seen anything about. The first occured when I had to replace my windshield and both wiper arms were broken by the installers. It appears that the design is weird. Also, my stick shift has frozen in first gear twice in heavy traffic. I could not pull it out of first gear and the clutch would not disengage the gear, however the engine continued to idle and run. I managed to fix it by turning off the ignition and restarting the car. Has anyone had similiar problems, especially those who have had transmission problems?

I have received problems with my tranmission. It would get stuck in First and Reverse. I did the same thing you did -- killed the ignition and restarted it.... I took to the Ford and they said they could not find anything wrong with it (of course) and of course it happened again. I have yet to take it in for reexaminiation. Let me know what you find out.

Bobby

I Had the Same problem,
My Dealer could not duplicate the problem, but they checked for service bulletins for similar symptoms and found one which referenced a re-designed clutch cylinder, He replaced it and ever since then it shifts like buttuh!(butter)

-Scott

I had the same clutch problem,
The clutch mechanism is hydraulic rather than a cable, mine stalled quite often and even continued
to move forward in 1st gear with the clutch in.
as a work around (until it was repaired) I shifted
to neutral and pumped the clutch which prevented the problem. My dealer found a service bulletin regarding these symptoms and fixed it by replacing the clutch cylinder with a re-designed unit.

-Scott
