Yanek Mieczkowski is the author of Gerald Ford and the Challenges of the 1970s (2005) and Eisenhower’s Sputnik Moment: The Race for Space and World Prestige (2013).  His most recent book is Surviving War, Oceans Apart: Two Teenagers in Poland and Japan Destined for Life Together (2024).  He teaches at the Florida Institute of Technology.
